Gramatan Village

Gramatan Village is a non-profit organization founded by a group of residents in Bronxville, NY. This AIP program provides information and access to services to help residents remain at home safely and confidently as they grow older. It was incorporated in December 2006 as a 501(c) 3 non-profit New York State corporation and became operational in 2008.

Approximately 200 residents of the greater Bronxville area are members of Gramatan Village. For a modest annual fee, members know they are connected to a familiar and attentive community with a wide array of services and information. In addition to referrals to services, membership includes discounts and special privileges with local merchants and the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of educational, social and cultural activities.

The Model

Managed by an executive director and part-time staff
Services provided by a large group of volunteers
Services include information and referral; social and recreational activities; help with home chores; local transportation; free annual health screening; discounts in the community; education and volunteer opportunities.
Annual membership fee: $400 for individuals; $530 for households (two or more); scholarships available
A Social Membership, at half the regular membership fee, is offered to those who wish to demonstrate support for Gramatan Village, but do not need or intend to ask for services. Social Members may attend social events and educational programs.
